AUSTRALIA – I, Dr Vanessa Atienza-Hipolito of Women’s and Breast Imaging in Cottesloe, Western Australia have been selected as a finalist for the 2023 Women Changing the World Awards in two categories: Women in Medicine and People's Choice Global Awards - Health and Wellbeing.
The Women Changing the World Awards presented by Oprah Winfrey’s all-time favourite guest, Dr Tererai Trent, celebrate and recognize women achieving outstanding success in sustainability, humanitarian work, leadership, advocacy, tech, product development, education, health and innovation. The awards are designed to recognize the growing number of women who are leading the way in making the world a better place for us all and inspire other women to answer the call to take action.
Dr Trent explains, “These exceptional women are here to awaken hearts, give permission to recapture dreams and inspire the women of the world to come together to forge a brighter path for all. The rising of women is the awakening of everybody.”
Dr Vanessa Atienza-Hipolito FRANZCR is a Clinical Director, Specialist in Breast and Interventional Radiology and solopreneur/business owner at Women's and Breast Imaging in Cottesloe, Western Australia. She is a passionate educator and Adjunct Clinical Senior Lecturer at Curtin University, The University of Western Australia, and Edith Cowan University.
This work is so important because my mission is to save lives by spreading my message of preventative medicine and detecting breast cancer early using advanced mammogram and ultrasound screening technologies such as those used at my business at WBI. "
Dr Trent’s vision for these awards is to empower women everywhere to reclaim their sacred dreams and call-in women across the globe to unite and pave the way towards a better future for all.
It can be challenging to create change in the world and my advice to others thinking to follow their calling to make a difference.
”I am always striving to be the best I can both professionally and personally. It is my mission and passion to educate, inform and empower women to be their breast health advocates”.
In the last 12 months, I have published and co-authored three book anthologies, recipient of Breast Radiologist of the Year 2022 presented by the Radiology Awards and Australian Women’s Small Business Champion Awards 2022 Finalist for the Professional Medical Services category.
I am committed to continuing to make an impact through my work. My vision for the future is to reduce breast cancer deaths today, tomorrow and forever through my patient advocacy and educational projects for women and healthcare providers.
The 2023 Women Changing the World Awards winners will be announced at a glamourous event in London, United Kingdom on 18 April 2023.
